She sat in the coffeehouse, absentmindedly twirling the empty mug in front of her. She wasnt really going to have any coffee, it stunted her growth. Plus, it tasted horrible! She would mainly prefer tea.

The scene was picturesque; small coffee symbols pasted on the walls, little tables accompanied by chairs, a few coffee machines behind a crowed counter. This was Chicago, the windy city, and her home. She sat, in that coffeehouse, staring into space. She then, glanced at her table. On it sat a vase in which sat a red rose. There was a doily under the vase. It was joined by a tan mug, empty. The table was green marble style. What a nice setting.

Hi, can I help you? said a waitress.

Hi, yeslets see She glanced at the menu in front of her, Ill have a cup of chamomile tea, and abiscotti.

Would you like anything else?

No thank you.

K, Ill be right back with that.

She continued her staring into space. Soon she would have to go to work, and then home to her apartment. Repeat the next day. Monotonous, right? That was life, and she loved it. She was only 14, and yet, she could rent an apartment, have a job, and still have a tutor for school. Go figure! Her parents had divorced after 2 years of marriage. She had been the flower girl, at 10 years old! It wasnt much of a life for awhile. But, she survived. Then her mother passed away. Now, her real friend, Mrs. Wilkins who was over 70, was the owner of the flower shop where she worked; had given her a place to crash, and a job until she could make a minimum wage. Now, after 2 years of borrowing a place to sleep, she could live on her own. But, no one to share it with, sigh.

The waitress came back with her tea, and biscotti, and she began to nibble at it.

After she had finished her food, she set out onto the streets of Chicago laden with stores. She came to one in particular, and entered.

Hello Mrs. Wilkins, Im back.

Oh hello Meg, how was breakfast? Mrs. Wilkins spoke as she enveloped her in a hug.

It was good, per usual. She smiled with a little laugh. The coffee house was so nice today. Not as crowded as I thought it would be. She said as she walked behind the counter to get her apron.

Good, good. Well, right down to business; She took a paper with writing on it and started to read. The Tomersones have a graduation bouquet for a girl, andMrs. Merlow would like a birthday bouquet. And two people need corsages for acharity concert. Got that?
Meg shook her head yes as she scribbled it on paper.

Got it!

Perfect, now lets get to work.

She handed Meg the paper with all the flowers on it. Meg immediately went to the flowers, and chose 2 red roses, 4 red miniature roses, a handful of babys breath, some floral greens, 7 blue carnations, 7 yellow carnations, 4 white lilies, some passion flowers, 15 white, some kangaroo paw, and a couple of blue roses and yellow ones. Immediately, she separated the 2 red roses, a couple strands of babys breath, 4 red miniature roses, and floral greens. She went to a cabinet and pulled out wire, green tape ribbon, 2 scrunchies, and a bow of pins. She then began to make the corsages. (For those of you who dont know what a corsage is, its a small arrangement of flowers that are placed on a rubber band or scrunchy, and that goes on youre hand, or it would be placed by your heart. Its very pretty, and depending on where you go for the selection, it could cost from $12 to $20. These would probably cost about $14each. Just FYI.)

After she was done with the corsages, another order came in for the same charity event. Only this corsage was for a man. This one went on his suit. It was for the same family as well, but it was only placed under a first name. Walker Who was that? About 3 hours later, a man came in. Just like anyone else. He waltzed up to the counter, and asked for an order under: Walker

Um, sure. She walked to the back room, and picked up 3 corsages. She walked back to the counter, and placed them down in front of him.

Ok, lets see She typed into the register $14.07 times 3= $42.21. Ok, your total is $42.21. The man looked in his pocket to find nothing.

OhIm sorry, I must have left my wallet in the car, can you wait for a minute?

No problem.

The man walked to the door, and yelled something she couldnt make out.

Itll just be a second. The man said. In came a guy about her age with long blonde hair, and chocolate brown eyes holding a leather wallet.

Here Dad. The guy said. He was so cute! He looked vaguely familiar.

Thanks Zac.

No prob. Hey, you work here? He asked me. Not in a mean way, but in a kinda
straight forward attitude.

Yeah, why?

You look to young to be working here. He said with a smile.

Well, I kinda do.

Cool, Im Zac.

Meg.

Awesome name. Heydid you do these?

Yeah. She blushed.

Wow, they are great!

Thanks, nothing much to em.

Well, Ill see you.

Walker paid and they both left.

He looked soooo familiar! But she couldnt place him!
